Review:
Going in, I must say I have never watched the 1995 Mortal Kombat movie so, this is only a take on the Reboot. Without getting into too many spoilers, I will give a brief review. The movie did justice, the studio provided ample budget for good CGI and the writers did the franchise justice(with subtle references to character troupes), I have seen many video game movies which were cringefests but, this franchise has put a leg on the right foot and hopefully it can provide more sequels. The movie started with nice lore about Hanzo hasashi, hailing from a long line of assassins who is killed along with his family by a rival assassin leaving behind a young girl who carries his bloodline(MC). This was an interesting setup which was followed up by character introductions and mention of the Mortal Kombat Tournament.
